So as a new weekly edition to Dita Time blog I'll be doing a
"FRIDAY FAVS" personal section where I write about something new I bought, did, saw, read, cooked etc. I look forward to sharing this with you!
Last week I went to go see The Imitation Game in Dundrum starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly and apparently some blonde bloke from Downton Abbey that my mom said was in it too. Anyway I didn't know too much about the movie before going to see it, I had only seen a tiny bit of it on Graham Norton (my fav chat show) when Benedict was talking about it and it looked cool enough then and there.
The Imitation Game was honestly one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's based on a true story and I really really really love true stories. Like The Blindside - another true one and one of my favs! Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Alan Turning, a brilliant mathematician at the time, is the main character in this movie as it explores Turnings life during WW2 in England in a very captivating way. Turning and his team are working on a top secret case trying to crack the impossible enigma code which the Germans were using to communicate with each other, which would go on to save millions of lives. Apart from the decrypting the code, the movie also takes a look into Turnings private life, love, homosexuality and some other events in his life. Overall it's brilliant, very inspiring. Even if you're not into reading or these types of movies, I'd still go to The Imitation Game. I found it very entertaining and I would rate it 4/5 stars.
I actually liked the movie so much that I went out over the weekend and bought the book!!! I found the movie uplifting so I'm looking forward to giving this book: "Alan Turing: The Enigma: The Book That Inspired the Film The Imitation Game by Andrew Hodges" a really good read this month!
This book is available to buy in Easons and online & costs around €10.
What are you reading at the moment?
Love, Dita Xx
